ARTIST STATEMENT

Since 2017, I have been working with acrylic paints, to create detailed and colourful works of art that bring joy and wonder to the viewer.

My work is influenced by artists such as Rembrandt and Caravaggio, who used grisaille, a multi-layered technique where the primary under-layer of a painting is monochromatic.  This technique allows me to provide depth, warmth and life to my work.

Landscapes, portraits and still-lifes are my main focus, of which I take much pleasure in carefully composing each image.
